Kate Clements

Kate Clements constructs delicate and ornate large scale paintings and installations comprised of kiln fused glass panels. The wafer-thin panels reference naturalistic designs and floral motifs that she uses to explore ideas of beauty, taste, and impermanence. Since receiving her MFA from Tyler School of Art in 2015, she has been awarded residencies at the Museum of Arts & Design (NYC), S12 Gallerie (Norway), Pilchuck EAiR, and recently a 3 year residency with Studios Inc (Kansas City). Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has been featured in Italian Vogue Gioiello, American Craft Magazine, and New Glass Review.

Really enjoyed this Masterclass - Kate was a a great teacher and introduced so many different ideas for using the frit lace techniques. Will definitely be creating more pieces.

The structure of this course was a little different than the other online masterclass courses I've attended - but I really enjoyed it. It was a bit less structured, in terms of assignments - but provided so much information and is making me really think about how to incorporate this in my artwork. Thanks for providing great courses to take online!

She is very knowledgeable about her technique and knows how to transmit that knowledge. She is open to answering any questions without reservation. She is very pleasant and easy to understand, a fantastic communicator and a wonderful artist.

I really enjoyed learning this technique. Kate was an inspiring teacher. I think we needed one more week to cover the mounting and packing/shipping but Kate covered the technique comprehensively .

May be just a little to much time spent on demos.
