Learn how to create imagery in your glass work at our Glass School studio. This in-person course introduces several techniques for incorporating imagery with kiln glass, covering screen printing, decals, glass powders and enamels.

What you will learn

On this one day course you will learn all about the variety of techniques possible with glass and imagery.

Some of the techniques to capture imagery in glass fusing include powder printing, silk screen printing with enamels, and using decals. We'll cover what tools you'll need for each technique, with detailed notes to look back on.

Once you've tried your hand at each technique, you'll have the opportunity to design a display panel using whichever method you choose.

At the end of the day, your glass work will be fused in the kiln and sent out to you.

Skill Level:

This one-day course is suitable for beginners or intermediate makers who are interested in creating
imagery within glass.

Course Outcome:

You will finish this class with four 10 x 10cm coasters demonstrating different techniques and a 20 x 15cm display panel.

We cannot guarantee parking immediately outside the studio and rely on on-street parking on neighbouring roads. Therefore, a short five-minute walk is typically required. If this poses access issues, please get in touch with us before booking a class.

What to prepare

Please wear appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes.
If you are attending a One Day Course. Please bring a packed lunch. Alternatively, there are shops and a pub serving lunches within walking distance of the studio.
All materials are included and all the necessary tools are provided.
Your booking information will be emailed to you before the course date.
This in-person course will have up to 4 students.
We teach using Bullseye Glass (CoE90).

If your cancellation is more than 28 days before the class, a 90% refund is available, or the booking can be moved to another available class. For cancellations up to 7 days in advance, a 50% refund will be given. After this date, we are unable to offer any refunds. Claire Hall

Claire's passion for glass began during her years travelling across the United States when she met a small community of glass artists in the mountains of West Virginia and started to learn the basics of glass fusing and torchwork.

Originally trained as a sculptor working in wood and steel, the material of hot glass easily translated into her work. It was at this time Claire also started designing and creating glass jewellery, making glass beads over a hot torch and fused glass jewellery in a kiln.

Since then she has moved back to the UK and now works from her studio in Brockley, near Bristol. She has won several awards for her glass jewellery and exhibits nationally. Last year she was selected to showcase her sculptural vessels and jewellery at The National Glass Centre in Sunderland. Claire has been teaching classes at Warm Glass since 2012.
